Guidelines
Out of respect for those who rest here, we limit the type of activities permitted. Thank you for your cooperation.Visiting
- No littering.
- Smoking, vaping, alcohol and unlawful drugs are prohibited.
- No motorized vehicles.
- Bicycles must be walked.
- No sunbathing or nudity.
Tours
- Only Cemetery staff are permitted to conduct tours here. Email us at tours@bccem.org for information about scheduling your group and what fees may apply.
- External organizations and parties are expressly prohibited from using the Cemetery for personal profit or private activities not authorized in advance by the Cemetery. Unauthorized groups on the property will be asked to leave immediately.
Photography
- Photos for personal use may be taken with handheld cameras or phones.
- All other activity and equipment is prohibited unless authorized in advance in writing by the cemetery sexton. This includes but is not limited to: video, commercial photography, photo shoots, photography meetups, tripods, monopods, lighting equipment, reflectors and drones. Costumed photo shoots are prohibited.
Gravestones, Monuments & Markers
- Grave stone rubbings and castings cause damage to stones. These practices are strictly prohibited.
- Direct contact with gravestones is discouraged. Stones may topple over posing a safety concern.
- Never sit, stand or walk on, lean against, or strike any monument.
- Cleaning, maintenance or repair of any gravestone, monument or marker is allowed only with the permission of the lot owner or the Cemetery Sexton. Only approved materials and tools may be used. Bleach and any acid, including vinegar, are strictly forbidden.
Animals
- Pets must be leashed at all times, maximum 6 foot leash. Waste must be collected, bagged, and placed in a proper trash receptacle or carried out of the cemetery.
- Do not feed wildlife.
Trees and other plants
- Picking flowers, either wild or cultivated, is prohibited.
- Refrain from activities that may damage our plants and trees: no climbing or sitting in trees, or removing leaves, bark, or blossoms from trees.
Violators of our rules and regulations will be asked to leave.
